How you have helped GAFFI: We have estimated the burden of serious fungal infections in France that will be presented in an upcoming conference. We helped disseminate the press release on GAFFI's year-1 successes to French mycologists and authorities.
Personal comment on the major needs in France which GAFFI should be addressing: Fungal infections are globally well recognized and well treated in France. There is a particular interest for invasive fungal infections in hospitalized patients and a good evaluation of their impact on health. However we need specific surveillance program on fungal resistance and still needto work on standardization of diagnostic tools. Beside invasive fungal diseases, recurrent vaginitis, tinea capitis, onychomycosis and chronic and immuno-allergic pulmonary diseases represent a serious impact on human health that are more neglected. Prospective or comprehensive registry surveys are required to accurately determine their epidemiology and improve the management of these disorders.

How you have helped GAFFI: Inform colleagues and students on the existence of GAFFI through a systematic slide during my lecturers or talks in France or abroad (Burkina Faso, China in 2018). Organize with the help of the SFMM a meeting in Bobo-Dioulasso on the management of Fungal Infections

Personal comment on the major needs in France which GAFFI should be addressing: France is a privileged country. The major needs may be to connect more efficiently people working on fungi.
