Where and how
GAFFI’s broad approaches will be as follows:
- Engage with the WHO and other major agencies such as Medicines Sans Frontieres (MSF), the Foundation for Innovative Diagnostics (FIND), UNAIDS, Stop TB partnership and others for mutual benefit and to share their existing systems for metrics, diagnostic test access and distribution of antifungal drugs.
- Modify specific diagnostic tests to meet regional requirements and fit the budgets and training levels of practitioners in some low resource countries.
- Educate by providing clinical training to improve awareness and clinical skills, as well as treatment knowledge, in association with LIFE (www.LIFE-Worldwide.org).
- Demonstrate the impact of implementing these actions with a small number of demonstration sites, including small sites in Namibia and Guatemala and nationally in Kenya.
