How you have helped GAFFI so far? We have estimated the Austrian national burden of fungal infections, Fungal Burden
Personal comment on the major needs in Austria which GAFFI should be addressing: In Austria fungal infections are neglected. Most important are infections with Candida and molds in immunosuppressed patients. However, exact data are not available. We need specific surveillance programs, educational courses, new diagnostic tests and money to run studies on fungal topics. Specific national calls dealing with invasive fungal infections are highly warranted.
