View the Fungal burden of disease in Belgium. Publication: Originally presented at ICAAC 2014 as a poster, this has now been published Lagrou 2015.
How you have helped GAFFI so far: We have estimated the Belgian national burden of fungal infections.
Personal comment on the major needs in Belgium which GAFFI should be addressing: Most important are infections with Candida and molds in immunosuppressed patients but also recurrent vaginal Candida infections and dermatophytosis add to the global burden of fungal infections in Belgium. We need specific surveillance programs including resistance monitoring, new diagnostic tests and money to run educational courses and grants for people attending these courses.
